Mars Conjunct Rahu, Mars Conjunct Retrograde Mercury

Mars is conjunct Rahu as it enters Leo on Saturday, Aug 26. The north node of the Moon, one of the eclipse points, has a reputation for Crisis, Accidents, and Emergencies. Mars has the signification of Fast Action, Aggression, and Violence. Therefore this can turn into a deadly situation. The first manifestation is Hurricane Harvey. The energy pattern is still in force for most of the week.
Mars is conjunct Retrograde Mercury, exact at the end of the week. When Mercury is Retrograde, there is Misunderstanding, Delays in Communication, Problems with Equipment, Mistakes in Transactions, Wrong Decisions, etc. Mars makes everything worse with its Impatience, Anger, Violence, and Impulsiveness. The result is that Misunderstandings quickly degenerate into Argument, and Mistakes can turn Deadly.
Mercury and Mars are both approaching the Aug 21 Solar Eclipse Degree. The exact conjunction of all three begins next Friday, Sept 1, @ 4 deg Leo, and continues for several days. The conjunction on top of the eclipse degree indicates that events will have long-lasting consequences. Since Mars + Retrograde Mercury is not a favorable combination, it would be best to avoid starting anything important; even ordinary decisions can spiral out of control. Therefore, best to lay low and wait it out. (For more information on effects on individual charts, watch this you tube video.)

Venus enters Cancer, New Moon / Solar Eclipse, Mars enters Leo

Venus changes signs on Sunday, August 20, leaving Gemini and entering Cancer. This is not considered to be a favorable sign for Venus, because the changeable Moon, the ruler of Cancer, is unfriendly to Venus. The tendency is to over-react to feelings. Therefore some of the downside of Venus is displayed here: Selfishness, Jealousy, Unstable Romance, etc.
The New Moon is on Monday, August 21, @ 4 deg Leo. This marks the beginning of the Hindu lunar month Bhadrapada, which has a rather bad reputation for evil events: Hurricane Katrina, the 9-11 Attack, the beginning of the 2008 Financial Meltdown, all occurred in this lunar month.
This New Moon is a Total Solar Eclipse, visible across the continental United States. In Vedic Astrology eclipses signal forth-coming changes, usually with extended consequences. The events associated with the eclipse happen when a planet subsequently transits through, or opposite, the eclipse degree. In this case, Mars and Retrograde Mercury will become exactly conjunct 4 deg Leo on Sept 2 -4, indicating the potential for a major event or development in the first week of September. Watch this video for more details.
Mars changes signs, entering Leo on Saturday, August 26. The planet of Action, Aggression, Conflict, Haste, etc., transits in the sign of Leaders and Governments for the next 6 weeks. By itself this is not necessarily a bad thing: Mars likes being in Leo. But this time Mars encounters Retrograde Mercury, and the Eclipse Degree, simultaneously. The exact conjunction is on Sept 3. The potential for regrettable Hasty Decisions with Long Term Consequences is very high during the first week of September. Mars and Mercury will remain in close contact for several weeks, until Sept 26.

Capricorn Full Moon, Mercury Begins Retrograde

The Full Moon is on Monday, Aug 7, @ 20 deg Capricorn. This marks the culmination of the energy of the Hindu lunar month Sravana, named for the nakshatra (lunar sign) Shravana, that the Full Moon falls in. Shravana is especially connected with Communication, Teaching, Upholding Cultural Traditions.
The Full Moon is Opposed by Mars, which is opposite, @ 17 deg Cancer. The influence from Mars, from the Moon's sign Cancer, indicates a high intensity day, with powerful, even overwhelming, emotions: careful of excess Reactivity.
Mercury goes Retrograde on Saturday, August 12, @ 17 deg Leo. Mercury significations of Rational Thinking, Communications, etc., will be challenged during the next three weeks. Mercury will "back up" in Leo until Sept 5, when it ends its retrograde period @ 4 deg Leo.
Neptune is opposite to Mercury as the retrograde period begins. Neptune is on the other side of the zodiac, at 19 deg Aquarius. The planet of Dreams, Imagination, and the Irrational, opposes the already disadvantaged planet of the Rational Mind. Thus the usual problems of Misunderstandings and Mistakes typical of retrograde Mercury will be even more the case.
