Venus Conjunct Mars

Venus is still Retrograde, and now in Cancer. Mars has been advancing in Cancer since the end of July. The two planets will cross each other at the end of the month; the exact conjunction will be August 31, @ 20 deg Cancer.
Venus significations of Love, Relationship, Agreement, Harmony, Guidance, and Finance, have already been compromised by the retrograde condition of the planet. The addition of Mars, the Attack Planet, makes Venus and its significations suffer further. Therefore this week is Not Favorable for Agreements, Making important Purchases, Using a Lawyer, or Financial Arrangements. The Financial Markets will continue to be Unstable.
Venus will come out of Retrograde on September 6th. Mars will gradually pull away from Venus, finally leaving Cancer on September 15th. After next week, Venus significations will gradually improve.

Jupiter Combust, Venus comes out of Combustion, Mercury Enters Virgo

Jupiter becomes Combust this week. The planet of Prosperity, Generosity, Optimism, and Wisdom will disappear from view for a couple of weeks as the Sun passes over its position in Leo. Jupiter's significations will combine with the Sun, which isn't so bad for the non-material significations (Wisdom, Confidence), but the material significations will likely suffer (i.e., Prosperity, Banks). Jupiter will be exactly conjunct the Sun on Aug 26.
Venus is exactly Conjunct the Sun on Saturday, August 15. Venus significations suffer due to the planet being simultaneously Retrograde and Combust. When we can't see the planet of Guidance, we are "Without Guidance." Venus will come out of Combustion on August 20, when it will reappear in the East before sunrise as the "Morning Star." But Venus will still be Retrograde (until Sept 6) and will be headed towards its conjunction with Mars (Aug 31). Therefore Venus is still in the toilet for a few more weeks.
Mercury enters Virgo on Saturday, August 22. The planet of Rational Thinking is happy in its own sign, where it is also exalted. The significations of Virgo will combine with Mercury, leading to more Detailed Analysis, Data & Information, Critical Thinking, etc. Mercury will be in Virgo for an extra long time, until the end of October, because it will go through a retrograde period, starting Sept. 17.

Retrograde Venus enters Cancer

On Thursday, August 13, Venus "backs into" Cancer. Venus has been retrograde since July 25th in Leo. The rest of Venus's retrograde period will be spent in Cancer. Venus continues to be retrograde until Sept. 6.
Venus will be Gandant and Combust. The borderline between a Water sign (Cancer) and a Fire sign (Leo) is a particularly bad spot in the zodiac, called Gandant. Planets in this position are weakened and vulnerable. Venus, moving in reverse, slowly moves through this "pothole" in the zodiac starting on Tuesday. Also, Venus will be conjunct the Sun, i.e., Combust: we won't be able to see it. The planet Venus will be "burnt up" by the Sun for a couple of weeks. Venus will disappear from view in the West as the "evening star" and re-emerge in the East as the "morning star" after August 20th.
Thus, Venus will be totally hammered this week, and its significations will suffer. It is therefore a bad week for Negotiations or Agreements, Bad for Lawyers (Venus =Guidance), Bad for Making Purchases (Venus =Value), and Bad for Financial Markets.

Mercury Enters Leo, Mercury conjunct Retrograde Venus & Jupiter

Mercury enters Leo on Tuesday, August 4. The planet of the Rational Mind, Communications, Data & Information will be in the sign of Governments and Leaders for the next 3 weeks. This could be a good thing for negotiations, especially since Mercury will be conjunct Venus, planet of Agreement, and Jupiter, planet of Conciliation. But, Venus is Retrograde, which may screw things up. When retrograde, Venus is less likely to compromise, especially in the self-centered sign Leo.
Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter will all be tightly conjunct this week in the early degrees of Leo. The exact conjunction will be Thursday-Friday (just in time for Republican Candidates debate). When planets are on top of each other they tend to interfere with each other, which can result in Confusion, and Distortion of planetary significations. Mercury, planet of Facts, is the weakest of the three. Therefore, this may not be a good week for making important decisions. But all three of these planets are "natural benefics," so the damage can't be too bad. By the end of the week, the planets are getting a couple of degrees apart, and the energy will gradually sort itself out.
