Mercury enters Virgo, Saturn Combust Sun

On Wednesday, September 29, Mercury will enter Virgo in the Sidereal Zodiac. Virgo is a sign ruled by Mercury, as well as being this planet's sign of Exaltation. Therefore the significations of Mercury are boosted for the next few weeks during this transit: Rational Thinking, Attention to Details, Use of Skills, etc. Mercury joins with Saturn and the Sun, both already transiting in Virgo. In your personal astrology chart, the house (area of life) containing the sign Virgo gets emphasized over the coming weeks.
Saturn is Combust the Sun this week: as the Sun catches up to Saturn in the Heavens, the planet will no longer be visible to the eye. The significations of Saturn and the Sun combine: Sun is the planet of Authority, Saturn is the planet of Limitation = Control by the Authorites, i.e., Governments. In Vedic Astrology Sun and Saturn are considered "enemies", so during combustion the significations of Saturn suffer. As Saturn is the planet of Work, it represents the Working Classes, who will suffer at the hands of the Authorities. An example: the current uproar in France over the government changing the state pension plan.
Sunday September 26, the Moon is in Aries, directly opposite to the Venus- Mars conjunction in Libra, contributing further activation of the combination of the two gender planets. The energy is intensified for Problems in Relationship, Arguements, Fights over Values, Sexual Issues, etc.

Full Moon in Pisces, Autumn Equinox

The Full Moon will be Thursday, September 23 @ 6 degrees Pisces. This marks the culmination of the energies of the Lunar Month of Bhadrapada. The Full Moon will be within 2 degrees of the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus. Thus the Moon's energy will augment a planetary combination already prone to Dramatic Events, in a lunar month known for Extremes. The entry of the Moon into Sidereal Pisces will be on Wednesday which can by itself "set off" events related to the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction.
Since Pisces is a Water Sign, the potential for Water Disasters, such as hurricane, flooding, events on the Ocean, etc. is high. The potential for dramatic events related to the significations of Jupiter, such as Judicial Action, Religion and Beliefs, Financial and Banks, etc., is also high. The Full Moon-Jupiter-Uranus combination will be opposite to Saturn, the planet of Structures and the Established Order, which further heightens the threat of disruption.
September 22 is the Autumnal Equinox, when the Sun in its apparent movement relative to the Earth's horizon crosses the Celestial Equator (the projection of the Earth's equator onto the Heavens), the midpoint of its travels. As the Sun crosses the Celestial Equator the energy is considered to be "in transition" and therefore not favorable for starting important new projects for three days before and after the Equinox.

Mercury goes Direct, Jupiter conjunct Uranus

The Mercury Retrograde period ends on Sunday, Sept. 12. The planet of Rational Thinking, Communications, Business Transactions, Decisions, etc. returns to its normal forward motion amongst the stars. The delays and confusion in communications caused by Mercury Retrograde will abate over the coming week. The next Mercury Retrograde period will come in December.
Some examples of Mercury Retrograde from the past week's news: Pastor Terry Jones confusion over whether he would meet with the NY "ground zero mosque" Imam or not, Iran's delay of the release of the American hiker.
Jupiter and Uranus are now nearly on top of each other and will be exactly conjunct @ 4 degrees Pisces next Saturday, Sept. 18. Some of the recent examples of Jupiter conjunct Pisces in the past week's news:
...Jupiter, planet of Religion, conjunct Uranus, planet of Radicals: the radical pastor Terry Jones threat to burn Korans.
...Jupiter, planet of Law and Judges, conjunct Uranus, planet of Unexpected: a Federal Judge in California rules that the US military's policy on Homosexuals violates the US Constitution.
...Jupiter, energy of Increase, plus Uranus, energy of Sudden Events = Disaster: Gas pipeline in California town explodes and incinerates an entire neighborhood.
We can expect more of these types of events while Jupiter and Uranus continue to combine their energies during the coming weeks.

Mars enters Libra, New Moon in Leo

Mars enters Libra on Sunday, September 5. Mars will now rejoin Venus for the next several weeks. Libra is the sign of Balance and Agreement; Mars as the planet of Aggression and Destruction does not fit well in this sign. Libra is also a sign of Idealism; Mars +Venus =Passion. Thus we get passionate defense of one's ideals, which further weakens the likelihood of coming to Agreement. Mars will be in Libra until Oct. 19.
In the chart of the USA, Libra is the sign in the 11th house, which is traditionally the part of a country's chart signifying the Legislature, i.e., Congress. With Mars and Venus both transiting this sector of the USA chart, we can expect more partisan battles in the coming weeks during the lead-up to the November elections.
The New Moon will be Wednesday, September 8, @ 21 degrees Leo. This begins the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. This lunar month has a reputation for disasterous events (such as the 9/11 event). The potential for disasters is augmented by the ongoing conjunction of Uranus and Jupiter, which will be exact on Sept. 18 (see previous posts).
